Association of Transnational Law Schools – ATLAS

The Faculty of Law has joined the ATLAS organization, which incorporate ten outstanding law schools in the world: the London School of Economics and Political Science, New York University, Osgoode Hall Law School of York University (Toronto), University of Cape Town, Universidad de Deusto (Bilbao), University of Melbourne, Université de Montréal, Bucerius Law School (Hamburg), Bar-Ilan University, and the National University of Singapore.
The objective of the organization is to cooperate in the area of doctoral legal studies in order to deepen the international aspects of these studies. Once a year, the organization holds a two-week workshop for doctoral students focusing on topics of international law and government, the challenges of regulation in the global era, and comparative law. Each year the workshop is conducted at a different law school. The workshop is intended to train a new generation of scholars who are aware of the processes of globalization and their significance for legal studies, open to interdisciplinary and critical legal research. The workshop stresses methodological issues. Participants have the opportunity to present their doctoral work and to receive feedback on it.
