Law Faculty member Prof. Yedidya Stern discusses the Temple Mount

An article, in which Proffesor Yedidya Stern discusses his thoughts on the Temple Mount, was recently published in Mekor Rishon. Stern surveys the Halachic obligations and prohibitions regarding the Temple Mount, the most relevant to our time being that which prohibits those deemed impure from stepping foot on the temple mount. Prof. Stern feels that the prohibition has prevented unnecessary political and religious tensions from coming to a boiling point, one of the goals that the Halacha, as a legal code strives to achieve.
