Dr. Sivan Shlomo-Agon
Short Biography
Dr. Sivan Shlomo has been a member of the Faculty since 2015. She received her PhD in law from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds an LLM from Northwestern University, and an LLM and LLB from Tel Aviv University. Shlomo Agon teaches and researches in the fields of international economic law, international trade, international courts, dispute settlement, global governance, and empirical legal studies. She was an Emile Noël Fellow at the Jean Monnet Centre for International and Regional Economic Law at New York University and a Visiting Scholar at the World Trade Organization. She is a recipient of various prize and awards, including a Fulbright Scholarship, the Fulbright Alumni Prize, the Jean Monnet Scholarship, and the Sarah Wolf Foundation Award. Her publications include, among others: The Law of Strangers: The Form and Substance of Other-Regarding International Adjudication, University of Toronto Law Journal (forthcoming 2018, with Eyal Benvenisti); Is Compliance the Name of the Effectiveness Game? Goal-Shifting and the Real-Life Dynamics of Judicial Effectiveness at the WTO, 15 World Trade Review 671 (2016); and Clearing the Smoke: The Legitimation of Judicial Power at the WTO, 49(4) Journal of World Trade 539 (2015).
